Summary

The Signode technology team is comprised of people across the globe leveraging a hybrid operating model of on-premise and cloud-based solutions. This is an opportunity for an experienced technology IT Manager, preferably with global manufacturing experience, to lead a team of professionals towards infrastructure and network solutions that will drive measurable results. This role will function in a global organization researching, proving out, and leading the transition to a global set of Standards that aligns with our vision of keeping our Infrastructure Simple, Stable, and Secure around the globe as we align with the One Signode Strategy. 

- We offer a competitive salary with a range of $128 - 157k based on experience and skill set.
- position is eligible to participate in the Signode annual bonus program with a target of 15% of base salary.

Key Responsibilities 

This position is as a working manager with the role to organize, mentor, train, and lead the techs to achieve a an Infrastructure with these qualities:  Simple, Stable, Globally Standardized, Secure, and meeting our One Signode Strategic alignment. 

  • Manage and oversee the buildout of the One Signode Network and Server Infrastructure within the ISO 27001 framework. 

  • Set team members goals and priorities and oversee the daily work. 

  • Present business cases for new opportunities for improvement. 

  • Present to upper management issues that arise based on Exception based management. 

  • Create reporting framework to allow for weekly and monthly KPI reports (Monitoring and Critical Ticket Escalations, Backup Reports, Inventory Reports, etc) 

  • Train techs on hardware, and software best practices. 

  • Good working knowledge of Server Environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Server OS, Directory Services, DNS, etc), Network (TCP Routing, Switching, Protocols, SD-WAN, DHCP), Cloud, Data Centers, and Site Connections (S2S VPN, Client VPN, Circuits, etc.) 

  • Remain current on industry trends and strategic development in technology to create revenue, reduce costs or take advantage of new business opportunities 

  • Provides mentorship and direction through technical subject matter expertise to staff responsible for integration of software and hardware applications. 

  • Provides expert consultation to inform strategic technology and system decisions as well as tactical decisions related to projects. 

  • Promote continuous improvement and strategic direction of the infrastructure and network 

  • Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems in support organizational goals 

  • Acts as an expert for infrastructure and network teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions. 

  • Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy. 

  • Plan for future use of Systems hardware and software, services, technologies, applications, and standards and coordinates installation and implementation of Systems hardware and software according to department standards and procedures. 


Skills & Qualifications 

  • Great communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening 

  • Great Customer Engagement Skills 

  • Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations (SOX, GDPR, SOC1, SOC2) 

  • Excellent at managing people and the KPI’s (Time, Budget, and Resources) 

  • Working knowledge of client/server applications 

  • A clear understanding of Network Architecture, TCP/IP, Application and Transport Protocols 

  • Working knowledge of ITIL, and ISO framework. 

  • Great at creating and presenting business cases to executive team 

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills 

  • Customer service and interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • 10+ years in hands-on technology role, 5+ years of in IT operations/infrastructure leadership 

  • 5+ years of experience with direct reports 

  • 5+ years providing infrastructure application support for ERP and other enterprise grade software 

  • Experience with DMZ network infrastructure including topology, security policies, firewalls and the L2/L3 switch and router infrastructure 

  • Experience in ITIL, ISO, and other operational processes 

  • Proven experience developing and implementing company-wide IT strategy, processes and procedures 

  • Listening, drawing out key concepts and articulating advanced technical and non-technical concepts with ease (both written and oral formats) to customers, peers and management at several levels and across the organization with minimal oversight. 

  • Experience in selecting and managing outside vendors who serve outsourced roles in the department 

  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to all staff levels 

  • Strong interpersonal, customer relationship/partnership and influential skills to facilitate the implementation of efficient business processes 

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. 

  • Some travel is required, potentially global at times.
