Description/Job Summary


The primary role of the Packaging Quality Lab Technician is to support Packaging Operations and Engineering with testing and applications involving both development and operational research projects and day to day process control and quality assurance testing, inspection data recording and analysis utilizing SPC Tools. This includes daily gauge calibration verifications of equipment used in testing. 


To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily. This job requires a person that can, work independently, perform scheduled tasks at the required frequencies. The candidate that is successful will have to be a good communicator, dedicated, reliable and dependable. The job requirements include but is not limited to: 

  • Detailed Knowledge of Safety and Process Control Requirements, S.O.P’s and JSA’s 

  • Setup of Laboratory Test Equipment to perform product testing. 

  • Collect, document and communicate data statistics using prescribed software. 

  • Basic understanding and  knowledge  of process control, product and customer specifications,  applicable ASTM Standards, AAR Requirements, ISO 9001-2015 

  • Ability to verify stability and calibration of basic QA Laboratory measurement tools (Instron Tensile Tester, Caliper, Melt-Flow Indexer, Laboratory Oven, Balance Scale Micrometer…) 

  • Assist in the  development  of  new procedures, process improvement  activities QA  and  Operations  department support as needed 

  • Participation in Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action implementation reviews 

  • Assist in troubleshooting and corrective action and implementation activities 

  • Provide immediate communication to QA and Operations management on non-conforming conditions and follow quarantine guidelines for said non-conforming product. 



High School, Associates Degree, ASQ Quality Assurance Inspector Certification and or equivalent work experience. 

Experience / Abilities: 

  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience 

  • Experience in Quality Inspection/Assurance/Statistical Process Control.  Ability to read and write English and interpret and instruct with excellent communication skills. 

Computer skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Microsoft Teams and Outlook) 

  • Experience in SharePoint and Statistical Process Control Software/JMP/Minitab
