Description/Job Summary

The Pricing Excellence leader is strategic thinker with strong commercial skills, business acumen, analytical aptitude, and demonstrates success in using data to drive business process improvements and financial gains across the Americas Platform. The leader will be managing daily pricing exception decisions based on established business unit sales margin guidelines, managing all business unit customer pricing to ensure system accuracy, and performing the monthly SOX compliance price testing.


Oversee Pricing activities that encompass both leading the Analyst team, and overseeing processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency and in line with financial objectives and competitive advantage. This leader will align and integrate the Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Product Development), Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and velocity to improve the service level.

  • Collaborate and partner with the Commercial team to develop a deep understanding of customer segments, competitor offerings and market trends and provide guidance and direction related to pricing and revenue management strategies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make informed and logical decisions quickly and effectively in addition to communicating justification and risk assessment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for review and adjustment of strategic pricing.
  • Demonstrate analytical expertise with the ability to evaluate financial data and interpret the relevant data points in review and approval consideration.
  • Proactively recommend price changes for existing offerings based on value and competitive positioning.
  • Develop a team of Analysts who deliver both key insights and support to strategic pricing decisions by analyzing key metrics to ensure pricing is aligned with quoted pricing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make informed and logical decisions quickly and effectively in addition to communicating justification and risk assessment
  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. Strong influencing aptitude coupled with the ability to vary communication style for various audiences.
  • Identify business requirements, processes, and workflows related to Pricing and advocate viable solutions through utilizing technology applications.
  • Champion the design, development, and deployment for the AX Pricing implementation and upgrades.
  • Collaborate and partner with IT to fully utilize necessary technology to ensure a successful adaptation by the user community for effectiveness and efficiency.

Business and Financial Acumen:

Computer Skills:

  • High proficiency in MS Suite products (specifically Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and mapping software
  • Knowledge of various pricing methodologies
  • Ability to leverage technology (i.e., ERP and MRP) and best practices
  • Knowledge to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and architecture tools, including SQL
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems, specifically Microsoft AX is a plus

Required Experience

  • 10+ years combined experience as an Accounting or Financial manager within a complex, fast moving organization, ideally in the packaging space.
  • 5 or more years of Pricing management experience
  • 3+ experience in steering and implementing strategic initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience of effectively prioritizing tasks and motivating others to execute
  • 3+ years of experience of influencing large cross functional teams and executing changes and solutions
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a matrix structure

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree preferred.
