  • This associate will be asked to provide broad engineering services throughout the Down River (transit protection) division. Candidates will be expected to produce continual value and leadership in innovation, cost reduction, and best practices.


  • Bachelor’s Degree - preferably in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to work with multiple manufacturing departments - engineering, quality, marketing, etc.

    Highly Preferred:

  • Operational understanding of AutoCAD and/or similar systems

  • Knowledge of ISO requirements, machine controls and facility maintenance management programs

  • Experience in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing

    Essential Functions:

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and maintains necessary documentation

  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency

  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods

  • Drives equipment design efforts, repair projects, and capital project justifications.

  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts

  • Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions

  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

  • Work with operations/EHS team on hazard assessments, guarding, JSA’s as required.

  • Any other duties assigned by manager
