Description/Job Summary

The Market & Pricing Analyst is responsible to provide market research, pricing analysis, financial analysis and portfolio analysis to support decision making and prioritization in the business.  The analyst will work closely with product management and with finance to set objectives and will collect and analyze data related to product financial performance, market and competitive trends, and industry opportunities to drive critical decision making in the business.


  • Analyze pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors and report to product managers
  • Evaluate price position relative to product value and competitive offerings to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Analyze product mix and margins to make recommendations regarding VAVE opportunities and other cost saving initiatives.
  • Gather information on competitors, and conduct analysis on their sales, prices and methods of distribution and marketing to thoroughly learn about competitive position and opportunities.
  • Track and forecast trends in sales and margins and analyze in detail the data collected to provide management with thorough reports and results. Analyze data using statistical software.  Provide analysis for the business process as needed such as new product development, budgeting, and S&OP process
  • Execute on tactical requests from Product Management and Platform Leadership in support of product portfolio management.
  • Prepare reports on findings while illustrating data with graphs and translating complex results into written reports and presentations that are clear and understandable. Measure the effectiveness of advertising, marketing and communications strategies to support ongoing product line performance and KPIs
  • Support CRM system and ensure leads from marketing activities are followed and tracked.
  • Measure MROI for marketing campaigns and trade shows.
  • Work with project stakeholders to identify business needs and gather requirements for data analysis or deployment of already existing analytics solutions
  • Develop presentations for internal and external communication in support of market analysis, business planning, and competitive position
  • Organize and coordinate data acquisition and analysis in support of long range planning, annual budgets and quarterly reporting.

Required Experience

  • 2 – 3 years of market analysis and/or consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of analytic tools and processes to evaluate product portfolios from economic, financial, and market trend perspectives.
  • Experience developing, overseeing and presenting results from market research projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Should have hands on experience in analytics delivery.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or more in a field linked to business analytics, statistics, economics, operations research, or marketing.
  • MBA strongly recommended.
