Operations Manager
About the Job
Signode Industrial Group is looking for a collaborative Operations Manager with a background in plastics, manufacturing who is a true leader that can drive a strong, positive culture throughout the manufacturing and warehouse operations. This position requires a strong operational and analytical mind to constantly seek out improvements in cost containment, standardized processes and performance metrics. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the strategy and execution related to customer fulfillment, budget, resource utilization, quality, delivery and talent management, as well as fostering a strong safety culture.
The Operations Manager will have multiple direct reports, high visibility department management managing the manufacturing operations and the plants safety program plus some customer/sales interaction.
Responsibilities:
Solid understanding of production outputs, labor efficiency, material efficiency and effective personnel utilization
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with other business units, employees, and outside vendors
Drive quality in to all we do to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent repeat issues
Proven time management and leadership skills as well as problem solving and decision making skills
Responsible for meeting on time delivery and productivity goals
Perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing operations, including provision for the selection and employee counseling and motivation, meeting organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the operations
Direct and develop the documentation and documents to support the facility, equipment, and operations of the facility
Participate in the Capital Expenditure and Operating Expenditure Plan
Participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives within Operations
Define and recommend goals and objectives in each area of the operation
Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget and manpower requirements
Responsible for all aspects of Environmental Health & Safety compliance
Identify, develop, and challenge top talent to ensure long-term success of the organization
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or Engineering. Masters preferred.
Lean experience, budget, operations setup and management
Successful experience with managing and developing talent and building a strong team to improve organizational capability
