Responsibilities:
Manage production supervisors and day to day production operations in multi-shift paper products manufacturing environment.
Drive quality in all we do to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent repeat issues. Make sure all production employees are following ISO work instructions.
Responsible for meeting on time delivery and productivity goals
Perform administrative duties necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing operations, including provision for the selection and employee counseling and motivation, meeting organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the operations
Direct and develop the documentation and documents to support the facility, equipment, and operations of the facility
Participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives within Operations
Ensure the objectives of the company are being met directly through the supervision of the plant's management staff
Define and recommend goals and objectives in each area of the operation
Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget and manpower requirements
Develop and implement cost control measures, cost estimates, manpower and equipment forecasts and annual departmental operating budgets
Responsible for supporting the Plant Manager with Environmental Health & Safety compliance
Identify, develop, and challenge top talent to ensure long-term success of the organization
Support the success of other Signode locations through cross-functional projects, teams, and the sharing of resources
All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Abilities & Skills required:
Solid understanding of production outputs, labor efficiency, material efficiency, and effective personnel utilization
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with employees, customers, and outside vendors
Proven time management and leadership skills as well as problem solving and decision-making skills
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or Engineering is preferred but not required.
3+ plus years industrial management experience
Lean Six Sigma experience, 6-S, A3, budget, operations setup, and management is desired.
Successful experience with managing and developing talent and building a strong team to improve organizational capability is also preferred.
