Description/Job Summary

Well Qualified and experienced Packaging Professional to expand Signode’s line of consumable transit packaging material.  Ability to create novel approaches to transit packaging constraining methods.  Ideal candidate will have experience in packaging and simple machine design knowledge.  Ability to manage multiple projects with various departments and provide guidance and training to other personnel.


  • Research innovative methods of securing items for transit packaging utilizing current or new consumables working to build our intellectual property portfolio.
  • Ability to identify and document technical testing requirements for new methods of constraint that meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Project leadership from concept through commercialization, advocate for corporate stage gate process.
  • Project management experience required, ability to manage multi projects from concept to realized product, ability to pivot and identify waste in product development.  
  • Collaborate with various departments ensuring generated innovation become commercially successful products or processes.
  • Work with program manager and project engineers ensuring projects stay on task, on time, and accurately documented.
  • Attend industry standard events relating to packaging continuing to grow our relationship with regulatory bodies.
  • Work collaboratively with Signode’s Packaging Lab to ensure new innovations are properly tested and documented.
  • Travel Requirement 5-10% customer sites, manufacturing plants, and testing sites.
  • Experience with RFID and tracking innovations a plus.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 4-8 years industry experience related to packaging, warehouse automation, or packaging unitization

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering, other degrees considered with relevant experience
