Signode is excited to be recruiting for a Buyer based in Glenview, IL.  This position performs mid-level purchasing functions as well as other purchasing personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining inventory levels, perform inventory analysis and replenish inventory as needed
  • Develop min/max levels for items
  • Interact with suppliers in expediting orders, building truckloads, and resolving issues
  • Analyze and allocate inventories
  • Develop solid relationships with suppliers, sales, customer service and operations
  • Develop initiatives to reduce slow moving inventories and to improve inventory turns
  • Communicate complex inventory issues to manager
  • Generate, develop, and maintain monthly reports as assigned
  • Assist in inventory risk assessment mitigation activity
  • Expediting deliveries on select products
  • Seeking new sources of supply
  • Review inventory activities and recommend improvements
  • Place, firm, and expedite purchase orders
  • Monitor current part numbers and creates new numbers as necessary
  • Handle and reconcile receiving and invoice issues
  • Support Sourcing Specialist as required

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Entry level purchasing or inventory management experience preferred but not required
  • Previous inventory replenishment and buying experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Proficiency with AX and Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment is a must
