Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshootingand repairing breakdowns on plant equipment, machines and facilities as theyoccur. This position will schedule and perform preventative maintenanceactivities as required. Order andmaintain appropriate parts in stock to minimize downtime on equipment. Insurethat all repairs are done in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner.

  • Perform repairs and maintenance toequipment in a timely, complete and cost effective manner.

  • Provide and maintain a preventativemaintenance schedule for all plant equipment.

  • Purchase maintenance parts for plantequipment.

  • Adhere to all safety rules andregulations, lock out tag out requirements, and plant procedures.

  • Maintain a cost effective spare partsinventory as required.

  • Insure that the maintenance shop andtools are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electricaland PLC control problems with plant equipment.

  • Communicates with Plant Manager onmaintenance schedules and production needs.

  • Responsible for maintenance repairbudget.

  • Review all processes and proceduresseeking ways to increase safety and productivity.

    Position Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent;College or technical training preferred.

  • 5 years of manufacturing plant maintenanceexperience.

  • Previous experience with plastics equipmenta plus.

  • Experience with AB PLC andelectromechanical skills a plus.

  • Ability to fabricate repairs, weld anduse acetylene equipment as needed.

  • Experience in a manufacturingenvironment preferred.

  • Position requires long periods ofwalking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping and twisting.

  • Must be capable of troubleshooting andrepair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Experience in DC and AC drives.

  • Good verbal and written communicationskills.

  • Familiar with Excel, Word and emailprograms.

  • Ability to work under time constraintsin a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to work at heights up to 60'.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
